What You Can Expect
- A free consultation interview.
- As soon as the contract is signed and deposit is received, I will provide support via email and phone addressing any concerns the mother may have. I will want to be updated via text message or email about your doctor visits and any progress you have made.
- Two prenatal visits at your home. During these visits I will get to know you and assist you in discovering your concerns and preferences for childbirth. I can also suggest some holistic and natural remedies to some of the discomforts of pregnancy.
- I will remain on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week two weeks prior and two weeks after your established due date to be notified of the onset of labor. I will also have a backup doula ready for you in case of emergency.
- During your labor I will provide continuous emotional and physical support. I may use relaxation massage, acupressure, physical comfort measures, and breathing techniques. I will also assist you and your family in learning all of your options as labor progresses. I provide constant reassurance and comfort. I will help you follow whatever birth plan you create, whether it is natural or medicated, as best as I am able.
- I will stay with you for up to two hours after the birth of your baby. I will continue to provide support and comfort measures as you welcome your new little one into the world. I can also assist you in establishing breastfeeding, if you choose.
- A postpartum visit in your home, 3-5 days after the birth of your baby. During this visit I can address any difficulties you are facing with bringing your newborn home. I can also continue to assist in breastfeeding.
- What not to Expect
- I do not perform medical tasks and am not a health care professional.
- I do not make medical decisions for you. I will help you get all of the information that you need to make your own informed decisions.
- I will not speak to medical staff regarding matters where health care decisions are being made. I can discuss your concerns with you and provide you with options. I can also support you in discussions with staff as your advocate, making sure you have the ability to discuss concerns
All of these services are included in my set price of $550.00. If for some reason you are unable to afford the fees that we discuss, I am more than happy to find a way that I can work with you! Every woman who wants a doula to assist her at her birth should be able to have one!
